About Mission Nuestra Senora de la Soledad

Mission Nuestra Senora de la Soledad, founded in 1791, is a California mission located in the Salinas Valley near Soledad. Visitors explore the grounds and acquire a self-guided tour from the gift shop, staffed by volunteers. The mission shop sells religious items and gifts. The grounds sit in wine country known as the Santa Lucia Highlands, with three wineries within two miles. Los Padres National Forest borders the mission to the south, and Pinnacles National Monument lies to the east. Monterey Bay is fifty minutes to the northwest. The mission holds Mass on the first Sunday of each month, Christmas Eve, and Easter Sunrise. Hours are published on the venue's site.
