Lake Brownwood State Park sits on the shore of a 7,300-surface-acre lake in Brownwood, Texas. Visitors fish from shore, pier, or boat, with fishing gear available to loan. The park offers swimming, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, and paddling, plus kayak rentals at the boat ramp. Nearly six miles of trails wind through the park; the 2.9-mile Nopales Ridge Trail is open to both hikers and bikers. Benches built by Civilian Conservation Corps workers line the trails, and a scenic historic pavilion overlooks the water. On land, families enjoy geocaching, bird watching, wildlife spotting, volleyball, and softball. Accommodations include water-only tent sites, sites with water and electricity, 20 full hookup sites, 10 screened shelters, two-person and four-person cabins with some offering lake views, and lodges sleeping four to 26 people. A historic CCC-built recreation hall with an outdoor dance pavilion overlooking the lake hosts group events.
Lake Brownwood State Park publishes its own offers, and when tpwd.texas.gov was last read there was none.
The page stays here because the attraction is still worth knowing about, and because we keep checking. If a deal appears on their site, it appears here.
