About Killer Video

Killer Video is a nonprofit museum in Akron dedicated to preserving horror cinema on VHS and other physical media formats. Visitors explore a recreated video rental store anchored by a meticulously curated collection of horror films on VHS, from campy slashers and supernatural thrillers to cult classics. The gallery displays original standees, lobby cards, promotional items, limited edition screen prints, and toys from the museum's private collection. Fluorescent lights and vintage movie posters evoke the atmosphere of the video rental era. The gift shop stocks items from local artists and makers, including original prints, jewelry, candles, t-shirts, comics, and collectibles. Museum members can rent DVDs and Blu-rays from the operational in-person rental library. Timed tickets admit groups for a full hour with tour guides answering questions about the collection. Children ages 12 to 18 may visit with an accompanying adult; children under 12 are not permitted.
