About Key West Aquarium
The Key West Aquarium, located in Mallory Square in downtown Key West, is the nation's first open-air aquarium and has been a landmark for 90 years. Visitors encounter over 250 specimens of fish, sharks, and four of the five sea turtle species inhabiting Florida Keys waters. The facility features a touch tank where guests can handle marine creatures, and multiple daily guided tours included with admission. The Rays and Sharks Tour, Sea Turtle Conservation Tour, Invasive Species Tour, Touch Tank Tour, and Atlantic Shores Game Fish & Sharks Tour all include live feeding demonstrations and typically last 15 to 20 minutes. These presentations are led by knowledgeable guides through featured exhibits. The aquarium opens daily and operates seven days a week. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website, and the facility provides accommodations for hearing-impaired guests upon request.
