About John Jay French Museum

The John Jay French Museum in Beaumont preserves and interprets the history of Southeast Texas through guided tours of an 1845 house museum. Visitors walk through the restored home to experience period furnishings, artifacts, and architecture that reflect life in early Beaumont. The Beaumont Heritage Society, a nonprofit organization, operates the museum and offers guided tours on a regular schedule. Tours are available Tuesday through Friday at multiple times throughout the day, with Saturday tours also offered. Children three and under may accompany groups at no charge. The organization also maintains the 1907 Chambers House Museum as a companion historic property.
