About Chambers House Museum

The Chambers House Museum in Beaumont preserves a 1907 mansion that documents upper-middle-class life during the region's timber and oil boom. Visitors tour the house to explore how a prominent local family lived in the early twentieth century. The home was built by a lumberman and purchased by C. Homer and Edith Fuller Chambers in 1914, who raised their two daughters there. After extensive remodeling in 1924, the house remained unchanged for nearly nine decades. Upon the death of Florence Chambers in 2004, the museum discovered approximately ninety years of accumulated family possessions still inside, many dating to the 1924 renovation period. These personal items fill the rooms and tell the story of daily domestic life in a bygone era. The museum suits history enthusiasts and those interested in early twentieth-century regional history. Tours are available through advance booking on the venue's website.
