About Ithaca Children's Garden
Ithaca Children's Garden is a three-acre nature space where children engage in hands-on outdoor exploration and play. Visitors explore a Kitchen Garden where they can sample vegetables, discover the Troll House with its living straw roof, and observe the Bird Habitat Garden. The garden is home to rabbits, honeybees, and hens housed in Cluckingham Palace, a moveable coop that fertilizes garden beds as it rotates. A resident beekeeper offers honey tastings and bee education programs. The Bulb Labyrinth Memorial Garden provides a peaceful setting for reflection. Children can climb, dig, play in natural spaces, and interact with animals and insects throughout the year. The garden hosts signature events including the Festival of Fire & Ice, International Mud Day, and Earth Day Action. Admission is free and the garden is wheelchair accessible, open dawn to dusk.
