About Cornell Botanic Gardens

Cornell Botanic Gardens is a living museum spanning over 3,600 acres of biologically diverse landscapes in the Finger Lakes region. Visitors explore specialty gardens surrounding the Brian C. Nevin Welcome Center, including the Robison Herb Garden with over 500 herb varieties, the Treman Woodland Walk with moisture-loving plants along a hemlock-shaded stream, and the iconic Cascadilla Gorge Trail, which passes through ancient bedrock and six waterfalls while exposing sedimentary rocks deposited 400 million years ago. The F.R. Newman Arboretum and Mundy Wildflower Garden offer additional natural areas to discover. The Welcome Center features interpretive exhibits and fully accessible restrooms. Guided tours depart regularly, and self-guided exploration is supported by an interactive garden map and a Pocketsights mobile app providing natural and cultural history at various points of interest. The gardens open daily from dawn to dusk throughout the year in Ithaca, New York.
