About Island Ferry Adventures

Island Ferry Adventures runs ferries to Carrot Island, Bird Shoal Beach, and Sand Dollar from Beaufort, North Carolina. Visitors board boats that depart every half hour during summer months, traveling to uninhabited islands accessible only by water. Once there, guests shell, hunt for sand dollars, relax on pristine beaches, and observe wildlife including wild horses, gray foxes, river otters, and sea turtles. The Sand Dollar Excursion requires advance reservations, while ferries to Carrot Island and Bird Shoal Beach operate on a walk-up basis, though reservations are recommended. Pets and carry-on items travel free. Children ages two and under ride free on the Carrot Island Ferry; older children and adults pay published admission prices, which are listed online.
