About Hammond Museum & Japanese Stroll Garden

Hammond Museum & Japanese Stroll Garden is an art museum and tranquil Japanese stroll garden in North Salem where visitors explore innovative art exhibitions, take classes, and wander seasonal garden landscapes. The Adams School of Art offers adult ceramic courses, paint-draw-and-sculpt classes, and youth and teen workshops. Cultural programs and events occur throughout the year. Visitors can play lawn games including giant chess, bocce ball, croquet, badminton, cornhole toss, and ring toss on the lawn during good weather on weekends or by appointment. The grounds accommodate self-provided picnics on the patio or in the garden during visiting hours. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The museum charges admission with reduced rates for seniors, students with identification, and veterans, while children five and under enter free. The venue is accessible by car via I-684 or by Metro-North train to Brewster station followed by taxi or car service.
