About Glendale Heritage Preservation

Glendale Heritage Preservation Museum occupies the 1880 Cincinnati, Hamilton and Dayton railroad depot in Historic Glendale's Village Square. Visitors explore rotating exhibits that change three to four times yearly, including the current America 250 exhibit "Glendale: Looking Back 250 Years." The museum displays local history through photographs, artifacts, and a video documenting the village's founding in the early 1850s, its underground railroad role, and its designation as a National Historic Landmark. The restored depot also houses an archive storage facility and the Black Squirrel Gift Shop, where visitors find unique gift items and Glendale-Opoly board game. After the museum, guests can obtain a walking tour map and stroll the Victorian-era village streets lined with ancient trees, visit gourmet restaurants in historic buildings, and browse distinctive shops. The museum is open Thursdays and Saturdays. An all-volunteer organization, Glendale Heritage Preservation exists to preserve and educate about the village's unique legacy, traditions, and history.
