About Garst Museum

The Garst Museum in Greenville, Ohio houses over 300,000 artifacts across 35,000 square feet of exhibit space. Visitors explore six major venues dedicated to significant American history. The National Annie Oakley Center highlights the sharpshooter's personal and professional life. The Crossroads of Destiny exhibit covers the Treaty of Greenville, Anthony Wayne, Little Turtle, and Tecumseh, along with the Lewis and Clark expedition. The Lowell Thomas venue features Lawrence of Arabia and the collector's souvenirs from his globetrotting media career. Keepers of Freedom presents Commander Zachary Lansdowne and the USS Shenandoah alongside Darke County veterans. Additional wings display the Currier & Ives Collection and period American furnishings in the Americana Wing, early agricultural equipment in the Heritage Wing, and an Early Main Street experience in the Village Wing. A Research Center provides access to Darke County genealogy records and local history archives. Educational programs align with Ohio fourth-grade curriculum standards.
