About Friends of the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary

Friends of the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary operates the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary, an educational facility where visitors observe resident animals and learn about wildlife care. The sanctuary houses a variety of animals including wolf hybrids, bears, and other species across multiple exhibits. Visitors can explore the zoo grounds at their own pace or participate in docent-led guided tours. The Zoo Sanctuary Gift Shop and Fisher's Beastro provide refreshments and merchandise during visits. The facility offers special events such as Growl, Howl & Wine, which features close encounters with zoo outreach animals, live music, and silent and live auctions. Educational programs and animal encounters are available to help visitors understand sanctuary operations and wildlife welfare. The zoo is located in Folsom, California, and operates Thursday through Sunday with extended hours during warmer months and reduced hours during cooler months. Membership in Friends of the Folsom Zoo provides annual admission benefits along with discounts at the gift shop and restaurant.
