About Sacramento Zoo

Sacramento Zoo is Wildly Inspiring with over 300 native, rare and endangered animals representing more than 90 unique species spread across its grounds. Visitors encounter giraffes, red pandas, Caribbean flamingos, thick-billed parrots and mongoose lemurs during daytime visits from 9 am to 4 pm. The zoo offers behind-the-scenes tours, nature explorer programs, and family overnight safaris where guests experience animal behavior and ecology firsthand. Summer camp, Little Peeps pre-K classes, and Girl Scout badge days serve younger visitors, while adults enjoy events like Wine on the Wild Side featuring over 30 local wineries and the Twilight Safari Gala. Educational programs reach 60,000 to 80,000 students annually both on-site and at schools throughout a 24-county region. The nonprofit Sacramento Zoo operates in Sacramento, California. Members of more than 150 AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums receive a 50% discount on admission with proof of eligibility, according to saczoo.org.
