Fort Meigs Historic Site offers visitors self-guided tours of a War of 1812 military fort and museum in Perrysburg, where historical interpreters in period clothing demonstrate weapons, discuss the fort's history, and answer questions. From April through October, guests explore the reconstructed fort grounds and see living history programs throughout the season. The site hosts special events including Grand Tactical 1812 reenactments, After Dark lantern tours, the Life in Early Ohio exhibit featuring historic skills and crafts demonstrations, and Garrison Ghost Walks with campfire storytelling. Tabletop gaming conferences, workshops on period clothing and historical technology, and Second Sunday games for families occur regularly. A visitor center provides amenities and an online store sells historical books, replicas, and gifts. Ohio History Connection members receive free admission during the regular season, a benefit the site listed through October 31, according to fortmeigs.org.
