About Fleetwood-Jourdain Center

Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center in Evanston's 5th Ward offers a full-size gymnasium, auditorium with stage, dance studio, arts and crafts room, and computer lab. Built in 1956, it is the oldest community center in Evanston and named after Homer D. Fleetwood, the center's director for over 30 years, and Alderman Edwin B. Jourdain. The facility operates a fitness center with published hours available online. Visitors can participate in after-school programs through Kids Zone, open gym and open play sessions, and summer camp. Seasonal programming includes dance classes, arts activities, and recreational programs listed in the Parks and Recreation seasonal guide.
