About Erie Canal Cruises

Erie Canal Cruises operates the United States Coast Guard Certified vessel Lil' Diamond II, which departs daily from Gems Along the Mohawk in Herkimer for sightseeing cruises through Lock 18 on the Erie Canal. Visitors board at the dock and travel through one of the most historically intact locks in the system while learning about the canal's over 200 years of navigation history and the Mohawk Valley scenery. The weather-protected boat runs rain or shine with departures at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. daily, plus select morning cruises at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 4 through 12 receive discounted admission; infants ages 3 and under cruise free. Military personnel pay $27 per ticket. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website at eriecanalcruises.com.
