About Doheny State Beach

Doheny State Beach, California's first state beach and a renowned Orange County surfing destination, opens daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Visitors swim, surf, and explore the sandy shoreline along Del Obispo/Dana Harbor Drive, approximately one mile north of Interstate 5. The park offers campground facilities with reservations available, plus Junior Ranger programs and Monthly Beach Cleanup events. Leashed dogs are permitted in designated areas outside the beach proper. Fourth graders and their families receive free entry through the California fourth grade pass. Visitors with disabilities holding a valid California State Parks Disabled Discount Pass pay $7.50 per vehicle for day use, down from $15, or $10 during summer weekends and holidays; the Disabled Discount Pass itself provides 50 percent off vehicle day-use and camping fees.
