About Depot Park History Center
Depot Park History Center in Acworth preserves and displays the city's past as a railroad town, mill town, and agricultural center. Visitors explore a kiosk featuring video histories and remembrances recorded by the Save Acworth History Foundation, in which long-time residents share oral histories of the community. The center displays the original freight scales from the 1893 depot alongside donated artifacts that reflect Acworth's heritage. The history center occupies Depot number four, a reproduction structure built as part of a downtown park on the site where a railroad depot served the community for over 125 years. The Save Acworth History Foundation, a nonprofit organization, continues recording video histories with support from a professional videographer and expertise from academic historians. The center suits anyone interested in learning about local history through artifacts, videos, and firsthand accounts from residents. The Depot Park History Center is located on South Main Street in downtown Acworth, Georgia.
