Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Fancy proper good fish and chips on the beach with a side of adrenaline? Look no further than Blackpool Pleasure Beach. With more rollercoasters per square foot than any other UK amusement park, this is the spot for a good old British day out. You should probably save the ice-cream for after The Big Dipper.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is currently closed and will re-open on 18-03-2023

Be sure to pack lots of snacks (but no butties)

If your planning on taking a picnic be aware sandwiches are NOT permitted. Bit random I know lol. But you are allowed to take all kinds of snacks, just no sandwiches.

Tanith says...

Save some cash with a refillable cup!

Top tip: get the refillable drink cups for £10. You can top them up from any catering stand and they’ll save you a fortune!

In our own words...

Top rides, slick shows - it's like Vegas with a Lancashire accent

Any self-respecting thrill-seeker will tell you, Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a must-visit.

If it’s rollercoasters you’re after, hang on to your hats as you’re blasted around The Big One or nurse a hangover on Grand National’s gentle curves. And, be sure to check out ENSŌ (the new way to ride ICON where the seats can spin and twist freely). Anyone feeling dizzy?

For any kids in tow, Paw Patrol and Dora the Explorer keep them busy at Nickelodeon Land, while you wonder how SpongeBob squeezes into those square pants for his shift. Plenty of talcum powder we reckon.

The excitement doesn’t stop when the sun goes down either. Evening entertainment includes ice shows and costume spectaculars like the Circus of Horrors. Too tame? Take a guided walk up The Big One when the coaster’s not running. Gulp.

More about your day out at...

Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The park is really accessible for families with 19 rides kids can enjoy whatever their height. They can also hop on some of the bigger rides if you tag along and they meet the height requirements.

Food and picnics aren’t allowed once you enter. It’s no problem to leave the park and return the same day though – just let one of their ambassadors know and keep your tickets handy.

Spend less time getting security checks (and more time on the rides) by leaving selfie sticks, alcoholic drinks and massive bags at home.

The park generally opens at 10am and closing times range from 6 - 9pm. But this changes throughout the season so please check the official website. The ticket centre opens 30 minutes before the park and ride openings are staggered. Nickelodeon Land usually closes one hour before the main rides. ‘Closing time’ means the last time you can join the queue for a ride.

Arriving by car? Take junction 32 off the M6 onto the M55. Follow the signs for Blackpool South Shore (via Blackpool Airport). Follow the brown tourist signs to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Easy.
