About Bear Creek Nature Center

Bear Creek Nature Center is an environmental education facility in Chattahoochee Hills where visitors explore mixed hardwood forest on nature trails and encounter live animals. The center features Georgia's only live native bat exhibit, along with resident animal ambassadors including reptiles, amphibians, and birds of prey that visitors can observe during live animal encounters. Programs teach zoology, botany, and ecology through field trips and environmental outreach. The center hosts birthday parties and events, and offers volunteer and intern opportunities for community members. The facility opened in 2020 as a grassroots effort to provide conservation education in the Atlanta Metro area. Visitors of all ages can participate in classes and programs designed to build awareness and appreciation of native ecosystems. The center welcomes school groups, families, and individuals interested in learning about the natural world through hands-on experiences.
