About Asbury Woods

Asbury Woods in Erie is a 234-acre nature preserve where visitors hike, mountain bike, and explore over five miles of trails through forests, wetlands, and fields. The Andrew J. Conner Nature Center features ambassador animals, a Discovery Room for interactive play, and the historic Behrend Cottage. The Boardwalk Trail, a third-mile accessible path, winds through mature woods with a gazebo and wetland deck where visitors observe dragonflies, turtles, and ducks. The popular Greenway Trail connects the Nature Center to Brown's Farm Barn and includes a scenic steel bridge spanning Walnut Creek. Seasonal activities include bird watching and wildflower viewing in spring, creeking and macroinvertebrate searching in summer, leaf-peeping in fall, and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter. The Little Woods area is designed for young children to explore safely. School programs, community programs, and special events occur throughout the year. General admission to trails and the Nature Center is free.
