Visitors choose among four ride styles: electric pedal-assisted Railbikes with open-air views, a Passenger Cart with swivel chairs for up to nine people, a Conductor Experience riding alongside staff in a Fairmont Speeder, or the Choo-Choo Speeder, a gas-powered locomotive-style vehicle. All routes travel through forests and farmland where riders may spot native wildflowers, mountain laurels, rhododendrons, and occasionally wildlife like great gray herons or bald eagles. The midway stop features the hand-carved Valley River Tunnel, completed in 1894 by Southern Railway workers, where temperatures drop 10 to 15 degrees. Visitors can explore the tunnel and enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to the depot. Railbikes accommodate ages 8 and up, while the Passenger Cart welcomes ages 4 and up accompanied by adults.
