About Nags Head Dolphin Watch

Nags Head Dolphin Watch offers guided boat tours into the sound to observe Atlantic bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat. Visitors board one of three vessels—the Nags Head Phoenix with shaded seating and wide views, the Safari from Manteo, or the Miss Bodie Island with covered seating designed for families with children and cameras—for cruises lasting more than two hours. An onboard researcher shares knowledge drawn from the Outer Banks Center for Dolphin Research, while expert captains work together to locate dolphins throughout the sound. Evening sunset tours provide an alternative timing for wildlife watching. Tours depart from either the Nags Head Causeway or Manteo, and tickets are sold online through the venue's website. The attraction operates in Nags Head, North Carolina, and has welcomed visitors since 1997.
