Winter Lodge in Palo Alto is an outdoor ice skating rink where visitors of all skill levels skate on a recreationally sized rink. The facility has operated since 1956 as a nonprofit organization serving the community. Visitors can participate in public skating sessions offered throughout the week at various times, including morning, afternoon, and evening slots. Skate rentals are available for those without their own equipment. The rink offers classes ranging from beginner to advanced freestyle skills instruction during the season. Young children learning to skate can use plastic "Little Bear" skating aids for support during designated Saturday and Sunday sessions. The facility features a snack bar and provides group reservations for small and large parties, as well as whole rink bookings for private events. Winter Lodge requires gloves for all skaters and recommends helmets for beginners.
