About Wake County Speedway

Wake County Speedway is a quarter-mile asphalt oval race track in Raleigh where visitors watch NASCAR-sanctioned stock car racing. The venue hosts racing events with qualifying rounds at 7:20 pm and racing action beginning at 8:30 pm, with gates opening at 6 pm. Spectators can purchase general admission tickets or pit passes to experience the track up close. The speedway features concrete safety walls and steeply banked turns ranging from 7.3 to 9.5 degrees, creating tight, competitive racing conditions that earned the track its nickname "America's Favorite Bullring." Food and concessions are available on-site. The facility has operated continuously since 1962, when it originally opened as a red clay track before being paved with asphalt in 1987. Tickets are sold online in advance through the venue's website. Wake County Speedway is located south of downtown Raleigh.
