Vulture City Ghost Town in Wickenburg preserves an authentic 1860s gold mining settlement established in 1863 around the Vulture Mine, Arizona's richest gold strike. Visitors explore original and restored buildings including the Assay Office, Post Office, Cookhouse, former Brothel, and the infamous Hanging Tree, walking ADA-accessible pathways through the town at their own pace. The site offers self-guided tours daily, with complimentary guided history tours available on Sundays at 11 AM. Beyond walking the historic structures and learning stories of miners, merchants, and families who lived here, guests can photograph the Sonoran Desert landscape, step inside restored buildings, and participate in blacksmith demonstrations and gold panning experiences. Wild West events and paranormal investigations are also available. The town reflects the hard, unpredictable life of an 1800s mining camp where opportunity and danger coexisted, with weathered walls and tools still visible throughout the site.
