Fort Verde State Historic Park contains four historic buildings furnished in the 1880s period, including three house museums and an Administration building that now serves as the Visitor Center. Visitors tour the Commanding Officer's Quarters, explore period artifacts from military life, and learn about Indian Scouts and the Indian Wars era through interpretive exhibits. The park preserves the best-surviving example of an Indian Wars period fort in Arizona, with structures dating to the original 1870–1891 U.S. Army post. Living history programs are scheduled periodically, and Fort Verde Days features flag-raising ceremonies, artillery demonstrations, and military drills. The site includes a parade ground, support structures, and two ruins across 11.25 acres. Children ages 0–6 enter free with paying adults. The park is located about an hour and fifteen minutes north of Phoenix in Camp Verde and publishes its admission prices online at azstateparks.com.
