About Vestal Museum
Vestal Museum occupies a Victorian-style railway depot that welcomed passengers traveling between Buffalo and New York from 1881 until 1959. Relocated to its present site in 1976, the depot now serves as a museum where visitors explore exhibits and historic spaces documenting the station's role in regional transportation history. The museum grounds also feature the Coal House, a structure used to weigh coal on trucks from 1908 until 2002, situated along a popular recreational rail trail. The venue hosts lectures and events throughout the year, including talks by notable speakers on local and historical topics. General admission is free. The museum operates Wednesday through Thursday evenings and weekend hours, with special holiday closures observed. Located in Vestal, New York, the attraction offers visitors a chance to step into preserved buildings that represent the area's industrial and transportation heritage.
