About Three Rivers Rambler
Three Rivers Rambler operates heritage railway excursions from downtown Knoxville to the Tennessee River, running since 2000 with steam engines including the recently restored engine 203. Visitors board at the depot in University Commons near the University of Tennessee campus and travel roughly two hours on Pullman coaches, with the option to visit an open-air car during the trip. The Christmas Lantern Express features festive decorations, holiday treats, storytime with celebrity readers, and a visit with Santa. The depot has free parking and sits surrounded by shops and restaurants. Two restrooms are aboard each train, and all cars are heated in winter or cooled with air conditioning and fans in warm weather. Seats are unassigned except for large parties. Infants ages 0–1 ride free with a paying adult ticket. Tickets are sold online through the venue's site, and the venue publishes multiple admission prices there.
