The Mabry-Hazen House Museum is a historic house museum in Knoxville that preserves an 1858 Italianate-style home and showcases over 2,500 original family artifacts spanning 130 years. Visitors take guided tours of the furnished interior, which interprets life through multiple decades and tells stories of the Mabry and Hazen families. Exhibits cover topics including the origins of Market Square, Civil War divisions, Emancipation in Tennessee, the 1882 Gunfight on Gay Street, Knoxville's industrial growth, and a 1934 legal scandal. The museum also maintains Bethel Cemetery, the burial ground for over 1,600 Confederate soldiers. Located atop Mabry's Hill with views of downtown Knoxville, the Tennessee River, and the Great Smoky Mountains, the house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
