About The W.H. Stark House

The W.H. Stark House is a fully restored 1894 Queen Anne style home in downtown Orange, Texas, where visitors tour a 14,000 square foot residence preserved as it stood at the turn of the 20th century. The house contains 15 rooms filled with the Stark family's original furnishings and decorative art, offering insight into early Orange history and the lumber dynasty that developed along the Sabine River. Guided tours are available on Wednesdays, Fridays, and select Saturdays, with additional Thursday evening visits offered periodically. The attraction also hosts open houses and scheduled programs throughout the year, giving families multiple opportunities to experience the home's interior spaces and learn about the region's heritage through its architectural details and period collections. A searchable online database allows visitors to explore the house's full collection before or after their visit.
