THE Eastern Front Gallery, Cambria

About THE Eastern Front Gallery

The Eastern Front Art Gallery in Cambria showcases dozens of 1/35 scale World War II dioramas and miniatures. Visitors view detailed scenes ranging from cold winter landscapes of Russia to autumn settings of the war in France, displayed as small vignettes and larger super-dioramas. Each piece requires months of intricate building, meticulous detailed painting, and careful composition and arrangement. Model builders particularly appreciate the gallery's craftsmanship, though no prior knowledge of modeling, military history, or World War II is necessary to enjoy the artistic effort and beauty incorporated in every diorama. The level of detail draws viewers into an era and place from 75 years past. Displays include infantry formations, tank movements, village ruins, and fortification positions rendered with historical accuracy. The gallery features both single-scene models and expansive multi-piece installations that document major Eastern Front campaigns.
