The Augusta Jewish Museum occupies Georgia's oldest standing synagogue building, originally opened in 1869, located in Augusta's Historic District. Visitors explore five exhibit rooms containing over forty-five artifacts dating from 1860 to the present. The Welcome exhibit presents a timeline linking Augusta's Jewish community to regional, national, and world events. The Contributions room showcases Jewish involvement in local business, public service, arts, education, medicine, and faith. Jewish Life and Traditions covers sacred spaces, Shabbat observance, holidays, life cycle events, and special foods. The Remembering the Holocaust exhibit shares survivor and liberator stories alongside a preserved 1860s Czech Torah. The Israel exhibit explores innovations, humanitarian work, and the land's diverse people. Interactive education programs complement the displays.
