The Knox County Agricultural Museum preserves 200 years of farm and home life through more than 4,000 artifacts displayed across nearly 20,000 square feet of space on the fairgrounds in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Visitors explore vintage tractors, hand-crank corn shellers, butter churns, cream separators, blacksmith tools, and hay-making equipment alongside household items that reveal how early settlers lived. The museum displays a 1923 Model T school bus, a Conestoga wagon, a horse-drawn hearse, and a 1924 J.I. Case threshing machine. The upper floor houses the Loom Room, where eight workable looms operated by volunteers produce table placemats and throw rugs. Historic outbuildings adjoin the main museum: a log house, one-room schoolhouse, smokehouse, springhouse, and other structures. The collection includes items donated by local residents and farmers, some passed down through generations. The museum suits anyone interested in agricultural heritage and rural life of the 1800s and early 1900s.
