About Smithome Farms

Smithome Farms is a seventh-generation family-owned crop farm spanning 600 acres in Big Flats, New York, near Elmira. The farm operates a seasonal produce stand stocked with fresh-picked sweet corn and miscellaneous vegetables. During fall, the farm transforms into a family entertainment destination featuring a four-acre corn maze, a one-acre giant sunflower path, hayrides, an apple cannon, and over six acres of u-pick pumpkins. Visitors can purchase fresh donuts and cider on-site, along with fresh-made kettle corn and fresh lemonade. Established in 1866, Smithome Farms has continuously diversified from its origins as a dairy operation to include poultry, beef cattle, and various crops. Current operators Michael, Maureen, and Tyler Smith maintain the working farm while offering seasonal recreational activities suited to families seeking pumpkin picking, maze exploration, and traditional farm experiences.
