The Rockwell Museum is a Smithsonian Affiliate housed in Corning's former city hall where visitors explore American paintings, drawings, sculptures, and photography spanning the nineteenth century to the present. The museum's three floors feature rotating exhibitions such as Art at Work: Reframing Artists of the WPA, which examines scenes of everyday life created during the Great Depression. Themed print and audio guides invite deeper exploration of the collection's stories. KIDS ROCKWELL Art Lab, located nearby, offers an interactive family studio where art-making activities and play are inspired by the museum's exhibitions. The Art Lab provides sensory kits with fidget toys and noise-reducing earmuffs for visitors who need them. Gallery activities and scavenger hunts engage children throughout the museum. Public tours occur on Second Saturdays. Programs include performances exploring Native American beadwork heritage and a High School Learning Center focused on identity and artistic practice. The museum suits families with children ages four through twelve, though activities welcome all ages from babies through adults.
Hours: Thursday - Monday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
