About Slide Rock State Park
Slide Rock State Park features the natural rock slide in Oak Creek that draws visitors to swim and cool off in the scenic creek landscape within a 43-acre historic apple farm. The park preserves the Pendley Homestead, established in 1907, where Frank Pendley developed a still-functioning irrigation system and planted an apple orchard in 1912. Visitors explore historic cabins along the main paved trail, view exhibits about the Pendley family at a gazebo-style kiosk, and access picnic areas amid lush vegetation and wildlife habitat. Trout fishing is available upstream, and the Slide Rock Market operates seasonally with snacks, water, sunscreen, and park souvenirs. The park sits in Oak Creek Canyon just north of Sedona and charges admission, with prices published online. Children under age 6 are free, according to azstateparks.com.
