About Sigal Museum and Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society

Sigal Museum and Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society is Northampton County's leading institution of local history, located in Easton, Pennsylvania. Visitors explore interactive exhibitions, collections of pre-European settlement artifacts, decorative arts, textiles, farming implements, and colonial furniture through self-guided and docent-led tours. The museum offers walking tours of historic Easton, special children's programs, and field trips focused on local and American history. The society operates multiple historic properties including the 1753 Bachmann Publick House, Easton's oldest remaining building with a preserved colonial-era courtroom, along with the Jacob Nicholas House, Mixsell Illick House, and Kressler Garden. Current exhibitions include Aquí Vivimos, exploring the Hispanic community in Northampton County, and Remembering 1776, examining how the American Revolution has been commemorated across three major anniversaries. The Jane S. Moyer Library and Archives assists visitors with genealogical and historical research. Programming includes lecture series, bus tours, and hands-on workshops exploring Pennsylvania Dutch traditions.
