The National Museum of Industrial History occupies the former Electric Repair Shop of the Bethlehem Steel plant in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Visitors explore over 200 artifacts that tell stories of American industry, including the esteemed 1876 Smithsonian Industrial collection and exhibits on iron, steel, textiles, and propane. The museum features dynamic exhibits and hands-on interactives that interpret industry past, present and future through the people, machines and ideas that transformed the nation. Families can tour the museum with expert guides or experience the collection independently. School groups participate in S.T.E.A.M. education programs designed by professional staff. The museum also hosts group outings for clubs and organizations, and rents its unique spaces for events including cocktail parties, weddings and concerts.
