About Sawgrass Recreation Park

Sawgrass Recreation Park offers airboat Everglades rides and an animal sanctuary featuring dozens of adopted and rescued reptiles and mammals. Visitors explore the Reptile Exhibit to see Florida alligators including Cannibal, a 1000-pound specimen, alongside turtles, iguanas, monitors, and exotic snakes. Handlers demonstrate how these animals survive in the wild, and guests can participate in a "Meet a Baby Alligator" experience. The Glades Exhibit teaches the history and conservation of the Everglades ecosystem, and includes a gem and shark teeth mining area. The park also displays African Spur Thigh Tortoises, resident iguanas Handsome and Cracker Jack, and free-roaming peacocks Ed and Max. Presentations are included in all exhibit areas. The attraction suits families and wildlife enthusiasts seeking close encounters with native and exotic species. Sawgrass Recreation Park is located in Weston, Florida.
