About Sacramento Valley Live Steamers

Sacramento Valley Live Steamers is a family organization dedicated to preserving American steam railroading history through ride-on train experiences. Visitors board fully functioning miniature steam engines on a main line stretching over 6,300 feet of track featuring multiple sidings and yards. The route passes through wooded areas with scenic views of the American River and includes wooden trestles, a 40-foot truss bridge, and a girder deck bridge. Track gauges are 7½ inches and 4¾ inches. The railroad operates from a location within Hagan Community Park and welcomes public riders during scheduled run days when rides are available throughout the day, weather permitting. School groups, birthday parties, and company events can reserve the facilities for train rides and educational programs about steam engines and railroading. The hobby club serves children and adults alike who enjoy learning about locomotives and railroad history while experiencing scenic train travel through this preserved outdoor railroad setting in Rancho Cordova.
