The Railroad Museum of South Florida operates a 1/8th-scale train that carries visitors on a fifteen-minute ride through Lakes Regional Park in Fort Myers. The narrow-gauge tracks stretch approximately one mile through woods, lakes, small villages, and scenic displays. The museum's centerpiece is locomotive number 143, a 1905 Baldwin built for the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad and restored in 2001, displayed for photo opportunities. The Interpretive Center, housed in a railroad depot-style building, contains live steam scale locomotives, rolling stock, and rail tracks. Visitors board at the museum ticket office across from the train station and sit in assigned seats on a first-come, first-served basis. The engineer controls seating and can relocate passengers as needed. The attraction operates on weekends and holidays, with published hours and admission prices available online.
Hours: Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
