The Montague Railroad Depot Museum preserves the history of Montague and Siskiyou County through displays, rare photographs, and unique artifacts housed in a historic structure. Built entirely of redwood in 1887, the same year the town was founded, the depot features redwood shingles and was relocated from its original location near the railroad tracks in 1976. Inside, visitors explore the restored Station Master's living quarters upstairs, which offer a glimpse into life from another era. Behind the main building, the Annex contains additional fascinating items, including the original curtain from the Opera House Theater. The depot building itself stands as an extraordinary example of late nineteenth-century architecture. Special tours are available for groups and individuals. The museum is located in Montague, California.
