About Piedmont Tree Climbing

Piedmont Tree Climbing introduces visitors to recreational tree climbing in the forests of the North Carolina Piedmont. Participants ascend into the tree canopy under the guidance of Patrick Brandt, owner and Certified Arborist, who has introduced over a thousand people to the activity. The company offers monthly public climbs, private climb opportunities for kids and adults, and individual tree climbing instruction. Piedmont Tree Climbing has facilitated events at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, the JC Raulston Arboretum, the NC Botanical Gardens, and local parks throughout the Triangle and Triad regions. Climbers gain fresh air and exercise while building confidence and meeting others who love the outdoors. The operation adheres to safe and ethical recreational tree climbing standards as a member of the Global Organization of Tree Climbing and maintains full insurance for climbs on public and private land. Tree climbing suits visitors interested in experiencing nature from a perspective found few other places—among the branches high above the forest floor.
