The Petaluma Wildlife Museum is a natural history museum and small animal zoo run by high school students on the campus of Petaluma High School. Visitors explore exhibits featuring vertebrates, invertebrates, fossils, gems, and minerals, with docent-led tours available on the hour and self-guided tours during half-hour intervals. The museum displays Africa, Natural Sciences, and North America exhibits, with Animal Ambassadors present throughout the facility to share conservation stories and wildlife facts. Student docents conduct tours for visiting elementary school groups and bring Animal Ambassadors to community events and reptile shows. The museum also offers birthday parties and private events, runs weekly Saturday Open House sessions from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and provides conservation-themed workshops at local schools. The facility is located in Petaluma, California, fifty miles north of San Francisco, with free parking and accessible facilities on site. School groups and families can experience hands-on engagement with exotic animals and immersive wildlife displays.
