About Peoria Zoo
Peoria Zoo spans over 14 acres in Glen Oak Park and houses nearly 100 species from around the world, including giraffes, rhinoceros, spider monkeys, and lions across six major exhibits: AFRICA!, Asian Trail, Australia Walk-About, Conservation Center, Tropics Building, and Contact Barn. The Contact Barn features the Bleat Retreat, where visitors pet and brush Nigerian dwarf goats while learning about their behavior and care. The zoo offers seasonal interactive programs including giraffe feeding, keeper talks, and animal encounters in naturalistic habitats designed to promote conservation awareness. Most visitors spend 1.5 to 2 hours exploring, with admission charged at four published price levels; tickets are sold online through the venue's website. Families can extend their visit to nearby attractions including Peoria PlayHouse Children's Museum and Luthy Botanical Garden, both within Glen Oak Park.
