About Pearce Collections Museum

The Pearce Collections Museum in Corsicana houses three permanent exhibitions exploring different periods of American history. Visitors tour the Civil War Exhibition, which contains over 15,000 documents, photographs, and original artifacts from 1861 to 1865, including personal letters and items belonging to those who lived through the conflict. The Hunter-Gatherer Exhibition displays more than 44,000 artifacts related to prehistoric Central Texas and the Blackland Prairies. The Western Art Exhibition features 250 works in a realistic style depicting the historic and modern American West. The museum also hosts special exhibits, including current displays on regional Civil War experiences. Living history events bring the past to life through volunteer reenactors who portray historical figures in first-person interpretation. The museum offers guided tours and welcomes both school and adult groups.
