About Ellis County Rural Heritage Farm Inc.
Ellis County Rural Heritage Farm Inc. preserves the farming and natural history of the Texas Blackland Prairie near Waxahachie. The 145-acre site centers on the restored 1913 McKinney-Aday Farmhouse, a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. Visitors explore a working farm, native prairie areas, and demonstration projects for crops and gardening. The Farm hosts organized tours and active learning opportunities that teach about rural life in late nineteenth and early twentieth century Ellis County.
