About 100 WEST - Corsicana Artist & Writer Residency

100 WEST – Corsicana Artist & Writer Residency hosts visual artists and writers for two-month studio residencies in a vast three-story former Odd Fellows lodge built in the 1890s. Visitors attend Open Studios presentations where residents share work in progress across the building's studios. The first-floor woodshop hosts readings and demonstrations. Second and third-floor studios display sculpture, painting, installation, textile work, cast brass, cast resin, graphite drawings, and projections using tungsten gels. Residents work in media including drywall, steel studs, and joint compound. A nearby bookstore two blocks away in downtown Corsicana features published work by current and former residents. Since 2012, nearly 180 artists and writers have created work here. The residency sits in downtown Corsicana in the birthplace of the Texas oil industry.
